2026_1142 Practical Sharing of SEL in Kindergartens
In this lecture, the speaker primarily shared how frontline teachers can help children learn to manage emotions and interact with others through concrete methods in the kindergarten classroom. Key highlights of the lecture include: 1. The Five Dimensions of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) 2. Tools for Recognizing Emotions: The speaker shared how to utilize picture books, emotion cards, or "emotion dashboards" to guide young children in identifying their current mood upon entering school each day, helping them learn to name their feelings. 3. Positive Discipline Practices: Rather than using punishment or threats, teachers guide children through encouragement and the establishment of routines. For example, when conflicts arise, the speaker demonstrated how teachers can model "kind yet firm" dialogue to solve problems, rather than simply stopping the behavior. 4. Sharing how to utilize diverse and enriched environments, as well as experiential activities, to create appropriate learning environments for young children. The content shared by the speaker is closely aligned with the actual teaching field, helping teacher candidates gain a better understanding of the practical implementation of SEL.
