University of Taipei and University of Strathclyde, UK, Deepen 4+1 Dual Degree Collaboration
On January 15, 2026, the University of Taipei held an online meeting with the University of Strathclyde to discuss the 4+1 dual degree program collaboration. The meeting was attended by Robert Graham, representing the University of Strathclyde. Both parties confirmed that the collaboration will initially focus on the Department of Urban Development. Students who complete their undergraduate studies at University of Taipei will have the opportunity to pursue a one-year master's degree in the UK. Participants are required to meet the English language proficiency threshold, with an overall IELTS score above 6.5 and no individual component below 5.5. The meeting also addressed tuition concerns. The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Strathclyde will provide a scholarship for each student, increased from £5,000 to £6,000, to help reduce the financial burden. If the program proceeds smoothly, future plans may extend the collaboration to the Departments of Psychology and Counseling, Marketing and Management, and Computer Science. It is hoped that this initiative will attract more students to participate in this international academic collaboration and cultivate future talent with global competitiveness.
