University of Taipei and Sothern Utah University Explore Multi-Field Collaboration

On October 1, 2025, the University of Taipei welcomed Dr. Stephen Allen, Vice President of Southern Utah University, and Dr. Ouyang Wen, Director of Recruitment for Asia . Both institutions engaged in in-depth discussions on potential collaboration across various fields, including education, humanities, and the arts, with a particular focus on faculty exchange, dual-degree programs, and joint research opportunities. During the meeting, Southern Utah University representatives introduced the university's academic structure and international student composition. Given the diverse cultural and national backgrounds of their student body, Southern Utah University expressed strong interest in developing Chinese language education programs. Both parties agreed to initiate collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with plans to further explore student exchange programs, short-term study opportunities, and faculty visits. These efforts aim to foster students' cross-cultural competence and broaden their international perspectives. In addition, both sides identified several academic departments with strong potential for collaboration, including education, psychology, arts, history and geography, social sciences, mathematics, physical education, and biological resources. The two universities will continue to maintain close communication to advance substantive exchanges and deepen their cooperative relationship.
