114 AD - USR - Art Prescription
Hong Kong artist Pak Sheung-chuen is known for his conceptual art and paintings, and is adept at using everyday life as a starting point to evoke reflection on contemporary society. He represented Hong Kong at the 2009 Venice Biennale and received the Hong Kong Arts Development Council's Best Artist Award in 2012. Pak Sheung-chuen also focuses on social issues, transforming social events into art through curating and creation (such as the "Nightmare Wallpaper" series) to raise public awareness. In recent years, he and Chen Zhuozhuo founded HASS Lab to promote art intervention in communities, social welfare, and education, putting into practice the concept of "social prescription" and improving the well-being of individuals and communities through art. This model can also serve as a reference for the University of Taipei. Teachers can collaborate with medical or social work professionals to design art projects through interdisciplinary partnerships; students can engage with communities, participate in practical activities, and cultivate social responsibility; schools can also establish long-term cooperation mechanisms to regularly organize art events. In this way, art will become an important force in promoting social integration and physical and mental well-being.
