114 Years of USR - Emotional Care and Resource Integration for First-Line Caregivers

Lecturer: Huang Huani, Psychologist This lecture focuses on common sources of emotional stress, coping strategies, and resource utilization in education and care settings. The content is designed to closely align with the practical experiences and challenges faced by frontline educators and special education workers, providing practical skills and methods applicable to teaching and daily life through a balanced approach that integrates theory and practice. The course is divided into three main sections: First, it emphasizes how effective communication skills can improve student compliance and introduces practical principles for positive instruction, such as giving only 1-2 clear instructions at a time, setting completion times, and establishing compliance practice sessions. The second section focuses on stress management and parent-teacher communication, emphasizing that stress response is not the same as the source of stress, and encouraging teachers to engage in emotional writing and reflection to improve their emotional regulation abilities through self-awareness. The third section introduces mindfulness techniques such as the four steps of RAIN (awareness, acceptance, exploration, and distance), explaining the positive impact of meditation on brain neural structures, and emphasizing the sustainability and practicality of mindfulness practice. Furthermore, the lecture also emphasizes establishing horizontal resource connections with school psychologists and social workers to create a mutual support network. Through resource integration and mindfulness practice, the lecture aims to help caregivers stabilize their own emotions, thereby enhancing the support energy in the educational setting and truly realizing the core spirit of "only by stabilizing oneself can one effectively support others".
