University of Taipei Holds Online Meeting with Kyoto Prefectural University
To strengthen international collaboration and exchange, the University of Taipei held an online meeting with Kyoto Prefectural University, Japan, on April 7. During the meeting, both sides discussed potential cooperation, including the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), with the aim of gradually establishing a long-term and stable partnership. During the meeting, the University of Taipei introduced its institutional development and key features. As the only municipal comprehensive university in Taiwan, UT operates two campuses—Bo-Ai and Tian-Mu—offering both access to urban resources and a supportive learning environment. The university also highlighted its strong performance in competitive sports. In addition, UT shared its support services for international students, including on-campus accommodation, convenient transportation, and a range of student support programs, all aimed at creating a safe and welcoming environment. In terms of academic exchange, both sides explored potential collaboration across disciplines such as education, humanities and arts, science, kinesiology, and city management. They also exchanged views on English-medium instruction (EMI) courses and Mandarin language learning resources, demonstrating strong potential for future cooperation. Both institutions agreed that the initial step would be to establish a sister university relationship through the signing of an MOU. Further discussions will focus on expanding collaboration in areas such as student exchange programs, international workshops, and joint research initiatives.
