From Text Analysis to AI Database Construction: How Chinese Speakers Can Become Knowledge Architects—Practical Insights from AI Chinese Partner and WriteAI

This lecture features Dr. Liu Yafen from the Department of Chinese Literature at Fu Jen Catholic University, who will discuss the topic “From Textual Research to AI Database Construction.” The speaker will begin by addressing “user psychology” to explain how to design a large-scale language model, emphasizing that “human language” is at the core of the humanities. Therefore, digital construction involves not only structuring textual data but also developing a contextual understanding, enabling the language model to continuously refine itself and comprehend “cultural contexts,” thereby serving the needs of language educators and researchers. Additionally, the lecturer analyzed aspects such as vocabulary generation, grammar exercises, and automatic question generation, demonstrating how, within the framework of digital humanities, both input and output sides can reconstruct language teaching and design dynamic, interactive teaching materials. Furthermore, by focusing on the thesis, structure, rhetoric, narration, and inspiration in essays to compare the strengths and weaknesses of two compositions, all while aligning with “cultural context.” This ensures that the large language model can be effectively utilized by educators rather than being controlled by AI and other digital technologies.
