Department of Dance 2026 Annual Performance

The Department of Dance at the University of Taipei organizes its annual performance with the primary goal of cultivating students' professional dance techniques and performance capabilities. These events serve to enhance the social and educational functions of diversified dance arts while showcasing the department’s unique educational characteristics through faculty-choreographed works. By hosting these performances, the department aims to guide the public toward performing arts, broaden the horizons of art appreciation for all, and nurture a future arts-loving population, ultimately building a robust cultural environment. Dance Production: "Body · Towards the Light" "Body · Towards the Light" takes the physical form as its starting point, continuing a profound gaze into existence. The dancers' movements interweave with light, shadow, music, and space, leading the audience's perception to unfold slowly. In this production, "Light" serves as both a direction and a question, guiding the audience into the fleeting moments where the internal and external worlds meet. Each piece is a journey of return, mirroring the recurring choices, confusion, and rebirth found in life. In an era of constant flux, we strive to return to our most authentic sensations. By following the faint glimmer of light, we seek to redefine our understanding of ourselves, each other, and the subtle yet profound connections we share with the world.
