Ministry of Education 2025-2027 USR Project - Integrating University Social Responsibility into School Development Planning: Taipei Municipal University's "Hualien-Taitung Boundless Companionship Project" Office Officially Inaugurated

To deepen its connection with the local community and fulfill its university social responsibility (USR), the University of Taipei held a plaque unveiling ceremony for the "Taipei University × Zhuoxi Township - Hualien-Taitung Borderless Companionship Project Office" on the 10th at the Zhuoxi Township Industrial Service Center in Hualien County. Zhuoxi Township Mayor Tien Kuei-hua and University of Taipei President Chiu Ying-hao jointly unveiled the plaque, witnessed by Chang Su-hua, General Manager of the Fuli Township Farmers' Association, and Li Kuo-sheng, founder of Hug Bear Academy. This symbolizes the official launch of a new era of cross-domain companionship through collaboration between academia, the public sector, and the local community. President Chiu Ying-hao stated that the "Hualien-Taitung Borderless Companionship Project" integrates resources from education, health care, cultural sustainability, and local revitalization, aiming to promote health, cultural heritage, and industrial innovation in the Hualien-Taitung region. The project focuses on four main areas: social care and social prescriptions, virtuous farming, tracing roots and learning about the original homeland, and the Hualien-Taitung Micro-Light Action. Through rural care, ESG and food and agriculture education promotion, and encouraging students to engage in in-depth service and learning in their original homelands, the project aims to cultivate social practice capabilities. The "Hualien-Taitung Micro-Light Action" team visited several schools (such as Danan Elementary School, Beinan Junior High School, Dongti Affiliated Senior High School, Beinan Elementary School, and Dawu Junior High School) starting in mid-October to promote sports protection and physical care concepts. Through advocacy and hands-on testing, they aimed to enhance students' self-care and sports safety awareness. In the future, the Zhuoxi Township Industry Service Center will serve as an important hub for Taipei City University's USR (University for Social Responsibility) initiatives, combining local agriculture, tourism, and cultural resources to empower the community and promote local prosperity, making the university a key partner in driving local revitalization and sustainable development.
