Ministry of Education 2025-2027 USR Project - Integrating University Social Responsibility into Campus Development Planning: Taipei Municipal University × Fuli Township Farmers' Association - Planting an Acre of Art

On November 9th, a team from Taipei City University (TCU) visited Fuli Township, Hualien County, for on-site documentation and cultural exchange. They officially launched a collaborative project with the Fuli Township Farmers' Association and the Republic of China Village Voice Education Association. The university will adopt rice paddies for contract farming, and the harvested rice will be donated to needy groups, combining educational practice with philanthropic value. During the activity, participants experienced rice harvesting, painting the school emblem on rice paddies, and making mud volcano tofu, and the experiences were documented. Led by President Chiu Ying-hao, faculty and staff personally participated, demonstrating the university's commitment to supporting local agriculture and sustainable education. They also visited several local educational partners and inaugurated the "Hualien-Taitung Borderless Partnership Project" office, deepening regional connections. This initiative combines university USR (University of Rural Responsibility), corporate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) with local revitalization. Through a co-creation model involving production areas, businesses, NPOs, and the university, it aims to create a model of sustainable practice centered on land care and arts education, showcasing TCU's integrated vision of deeply rooted community and responsive society.
