The 2026 Asian Weightlifting Championships opened in India on May 11, 2026. On the first day of competition, the women’s 48kg event was held. Huang Yi-Chen from the Department of Athletics at University of Taipei won the gold medal with lifts of 81kg in the snatch, 112kg in the clean and jerk, and a total of 193kg in the women’s 48kg category.
