The 1st Discussion Meeting for the Nantou City Revitalization Integrated Planning Program

This activity was the 1st Discussion Meeting for the "Nantou City Revitalization Integrated Planning Program" of University of Taipei (Academic Year 2026), chaired by President Chiu Ying-hao. The meeting covered three main agenda items: (1) Introduction of the program's mission and the contextual background of Nantou City as the fieldwork site, including structural challenges such as urban function decline after the downsizing of the Taiwan Provincial Government, stagnant commercial development, and population outflow; (2) Assignment of interdisciplinary roles, with each department taking responsibility for spatial planning and urban design, commercial revitalization and local branding, community care and elderly services, and cultural heritage preservation respectively; (3) Preliminary planning for the Phase One on-site field deployment scheduled for May 27–30, 2026. This activity advances SDG 4 (Quality Education) through interdisciplinary Studio-based Learning, SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through urban revitalization planning, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through cross-departmental and international collaboration.
