Neural networks with applications to GPS path planning and realtime image classification
In this lecture, Professor Wu focused on how neural networks optimize modern navigation and recognition technologies. The presentation followed a progressive approach, starting from foundational mathematical models of neurons and extending to a live demonstration of large-scale GPS path planning. This demo successfully illustrated route optimization across massive nodes, overcoming the computational bottlenecks inherent in traditional algorithms when processing big data. By providing an in-depth analysis of the hierarchical structures of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), the speaker showcased their precision in real-time image processing. This not only reinforced students' grasp of AI’s underlying logic but also established a robust technical foundation and exchange platform for future cross-disciplinary integration, such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Transportation.
