Troy University Visited University of Taipei

Troy University in the United States and the University of Taipei conducted a short-term exchange program from May 18 to May 22, 2026. The exchange was represented by Mr. Andrew McKown, ESL instructor from Troy University, who visited Taiwan to participate in a series of teaching sessions, campus activities, and academic discussions aimed at strengthening international cooperation and faculty-student exchanges between the two institutions. During the visit, Mr. Andrew McKown conducted three English-language classes at the University of Taipei. The lessons focused on English communication skills, pronunciation practice, and interactive learning activities, providing students with valuable opportunities to improve their English proficiency in an engaging classroom environment. The university also expressed special appreciation to Director Wu-Long Jhuang and Director Mei-Ching Ho for their assistance and hospitality in coordinating the exchange activities. In addition, Troy University hosted an informational booth on the first floor of Gongcheng Building at the University of Taipei. Through interactive games and quiz activities with prizes, students were introduced to Troy University's campus environment, academic resources, and study opportunities in the United States. The event attracted enthusiastic participation and further enhanced students' understanding of overseas study and international exchange opportunities. The exchange program concluded with a meeting held at the Office of International Affairs, attended by Director Wu-Long Jhuang and Section Director Shu-Ping Chang on behalf of the University of Taipei. During the meeting, both institutions engaged in in-depth discussions regarding future cooperation opportunities, including the possibility of signing a student exchange agreement, organizing Mandarin Program for Troy University students in Taiwan, creating opportunities for University of Taipei students to study at Troy University, and exploring potential dual-degree programs. Both sides expressed their hope to establish a closer and more long-term partnership in the future. Mr. Andrew McKown also shared his hope to visit Taiwan again next year and expressed interest in bringing students from Troy University to Taiwan in the future. Such visits would provide students with opportunities to experience Taiwanese culture and the unique cultural atmosphere of Asia firsthand, further promoting mutual understanding and intercultural exchange among students from both institutions. This exchange program not only strengthened the friendship between the University of Taipei and Troy University, but also laid a solid foundation for future international collaboration and diversified student exchange opportunities.
