Faculty members and students from College of Charleston visited Jiufen Old Street during their exchange and study program, experiencing the nostalgic atmosphere and mountain-town culture of Taiwan. The students walked through the old streets, sampled local delicacies, and admired Jiufen’s unique scenery nestled between the mountains and the sea. For lunch, the group also visited A-Mei Teahouse to experience Taiwanese cuisine and tea culture. In the traditional teahouse setting, the students enjoyed tea and conversations while gaining a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s history, culture, and local way of life. The activity allowed students to connect more closely with Taiwan’s local furnture and further enhanced their appreciation and understanding of Taiwanese culture.
