Ministry of Education USR Project (2025–2027): Integrating University Social Responsibility into Institutional Development Planning — "Cultural Prescription" Training & Dementia-Friendly Training

In this event, Professor Wang Shi-zhi introduced the concepts and applications of social prescribing, while Dr. Liu Jian-liang, Director of the Dementia Center at Taipei City Hospital, delivered a specialized presentation covering the concept of social prescribing for dementia, fundamental knowledge about the condition, and key care priorities to help students build a correct understanding. Additionally, the "STE2P" communication techniques for interacting with people living with dementia—such as active listening, simplifying language, and empathetic responses—were explained. Students participated in hands-on group activities, interacting directly with individuals living with dementia and learning to communicate and provide companionship with gentleness and patience, thereby further enhancing their understanding and practical skills regarding dementia-friendly care.
