Professor Wang Shi-chih, a USR project leader at the University of Taipei, was invited to Singapore to participate in the 7th International Conference for Practice Research (ICPR7). Serving as a Parallel Plenary Speaker, she engaged in international dialogue with experts, scholars, and frontline practitioners from around the globe. Hosted by the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), the conference brought together scholars and practitioners worldwide who are dedicated to practice research and innovative practices in social work. Professor Wang, who also serves on the ICPR International Advisory Committee, delivered a plenary presentation titled "Bridging Systems, Cultures, and Disciplines: Practice Research in Developing Social Prescriptions for Community Wellbeing," sharing Taiwan's experience in promoting social prescribing initiatives. The presentation focused on how the University of Taipei’s social prescribing team established an interdisciplinary collaboration model by integrating medical care, elderly care, and higher education—thereby linking academic research, healthcare systems, and local community resources. Additionally, Professor Wang shared insights on utilizing "practice research" to develop culturally tailored social prescribing programs for specific demographics, including elderly individuals with dementia, children with ADHD, and residents of remote communities. This international symposium highlighted the University of Taipei’s innovative social prescribing practices and its experience in training "Link Workers," garnering international attention. It also fostered exchange and collaboration between Taiwan and the global community in areas such as social prescribing, health promotion, and community well-being, paving the way for future transnational research and partnerships.
