From May 27 to 30, master’s students from the Department of Health and Welfare conducted a four-day field study in Nantou City. The students paid on-site visits to several long-term care facilities. Through first-line, in-depth interviews conducted from the perspective of practitioners, the students gained firsthand insight into the rural-urban resource gaps and localized challenges inherent in the current long-term care system. While there remains significant room for systemic optimization, the opportunity to immerse themselves in the field and listen to the authentic, lived experiences on the ground was truly invaluable. Despite the sweltering heat, the warmth and passion radiated by the long-term care partners far outshone the Nantou sun. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participating agencies for their selfless sharing. This exchange not only enriched the students' academic horizons but also provided them with a profound and transformative practical education.
