Rethinking Instructional Design in the AI Era: From Classroom Practice to Digital Learning Material Innovation

In this lecture, we invited Professor Chang Shu Ping from the Department of Multimedia Design at Chihlee University of Technology to share her experience. Professor Chang introduced the background of distance learning and various digital learning platforms, and demonstrated online courses she had designed. Through her examples, we learned that course development requires systematic planning and design. By organizing course chapters and applying learning scaffolds and knowledge nodes, educators can help learners acquire knowledge in a more structured way. In addition, Professor Chang discussed intellectual property issues that need to be considered when creating digital learning materials, as well as the importance of writing scripts for content review and AI collaboration. As AI technology continues to advance, how to integrate AI workflows and AI agents into course development has also become a promising direction worth exploring. This lecture deepened our understanding of digital learning material design and revealed more possibilities for combining technology with education!
