The lecturer shared several self-authored and published picture books, using these stories to share his teaching experiences in kindergarten as well as his experiences in parent education. He talked about his journey from his younger years of becoming a kindergarten teacher, naturally weaving memories of digging for bamboo shoots with his grandfather into the early childhood family education curriculum. Guided by the belief that “the world is indeed not a perfect place, but if we can, we can help everyone grow up well,” he chose to stay in Taiwan and shared his experiences of interacting with young children in kindergarten. The session concluded with discussion and reflections from three perspectives: parent education, picture books and storytelling, and early childhood education and practice.
