This activity, titled From Environmental Studies to Sustainable Practice: Exploring a Career as an Environmental Consultant, aims to introduce participants to the learning journeys, career transitions, and professional experiences of environmental consultants. Through sharing practical experiences, participants will explore how knowledge and skills in earth sciences and biological resources can be applied to environmental consulting. The activity will also help participants understand the key responsibilities, professional competencies, and workplace challenges associated with this career, while examining the connections between environmental assessment and sustainable development. Furthermore, participants will be encouraged to consider how professional knowledge can be translated into practical environmental protection actions. This activity aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. Ultimately, it aims to broaden participants’ understanding of environmental career opportunities and strengthen their ability to apply professional knowledge to sustainable development.
