The book exhibition addressed the following three themes: 1. Women's narratives. Examples included “I Am Malala: The Story of the Girl Who Stood Up for Education and was Shot by the Taliban” by Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani activist who strove for women’s right to education in the Middle East, and “The Unwomanly Face of War: An Oral History of Women in World War II” by Svetlana Alexievich, a Belarusian journalist who was awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize in Literature. 2. Biographies of some famous women such as Marie Curie, Eileen Chang, Audrey Hepburn, Coco Chanel, etc. 3. Feminist literature. Examples included books written by Virginia Woolf and Ursula Kroeber Le Guin. Books adapted into films or TV series such as “The Price of Salt,” “The Help,” and “Little Women” were also exhibited.
