A Story of Peer Relationships in Preschool New Immigrant Children

In this presentation, Professor Li shared the research of "A Story of Peer Relationships in Preschool New Immigrant Children" covering the qualitative research process and related content. This research employed the qualitative research methods, which included conducting interviews with the teachers and parents of preschool children and utilizing social measurement methods to observe the peer relationships of the children. The findings revealed that the research participant faced the difficulties, including language barriers and poor interpersonal interactions during the first semester. However, after two semesters of observation, the child improved his language skills and drawing, which positively changed his image and led to an enhancement in his peer relationships. The results have prompted the reflections on whether new immigrant preschool children experience learning delays or slower language development due to their family upbringing.
