Special seminar lecture_The development and operation model of bilingual education
In addition to focusing on promoting the United Nations SDGs in conjunction with the new curriculum, the school should understand various major international issues and respond to curriculum development and design, so that students can understand the context of international sustainable development, and develop literacy and skills that can cope with the challenges of future generations. Coupled with Taiwan's bilingual education policy promulgated by the Executive Yuan, schools at all levels can integrate the study of subject content and language use to improve students' ability to use English in daily life, so that they can communicate freely in English. It is also hoped that teachers can use Chinese English teaching and student communication. However, Taiwan is not currently a bilingual country, and most teachers have not received training in bilingual education. They may encounter teaching difficulties and other challenges when implementing bilingual courses. Therefore, this course invites Chen Jiahuan, assistant professor of the Department of Children English Education at the National Taipei University of Education, to share the current situation of bilingual education in Taiwan and propose what challenges it faces.
