Rice cultural activities

Influenced by the trend of Westernized diets, rice consumption in Taiwan has been declining year by year. In the segment "Introduction to Rice Culture," not only is the history of Taiwanese rice, the characteristics of various rice varieties, and the symbolic significance of rice-based festival foods introduced, but also a diverse range of rice-based lunchbox recipes are showcased. This event guides participants in using Tainan No. 9 rice to make rice wine and glutinous rice flour to create mochi. Through these activities, participants are encouraged to creatively use the rice commonly found in their households, diversifying rice-based meals. This initiative aims to foster an understanding of the significance of supporting local rice and understanding food mileage. It encourages everyone to make diverse rice-based dishes by utilizing leftover rice at home.
