Practical Operations of Basketball Court Side Defense and Recovery
In this session, I am going to discuss onside athletic prevention and protection on the practice level. There are two joints and one muscle group covered in the lecture. They are wrist, ankle, and thigh. At the end of the session, students will learn how to examine the situation. More details are as follows. 1. Wrist is the first part that I am going to show. Range of motion test on the injured wrist that we can tell which direction is lacking off angle. And also, giving manual therapy on the forearm for relaxing the muscle group. Finally, we can apply joint mobilization on the wrist for recovery. 2. Facing the thigh issues, high muscle tension on the quadriceps, gluteal muscles or hamstring are happening frequently. Thus, we could use Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation and Nerve System Mobilization. After all, thigh issues will be solved. 3. I will share analysis on some ankle braces in the market. Showing students what are the theories behind the braces. Then, we could use some theories to apply on athletes with kinesio taping or athletic tape to get some protection as an ankle brace. Or, even better.
