Coffee Seminar and DIY Handmade Soap from Coffee Grounds

In order to promote the concept of sustainable environmental protection, the Department of Leisure and Sports Management held a coffee lecture and coffee handmade soap classroom on the afternoon of November 25, 2012. Invite students and neighborhood friends to the school to learn about coffee brewing and sustainability concepts. The generated coffee grounds are then converted into soap to reduce the generation and reuse of residues. During the implementation of the activity, teachers and students of the school interacted with local neighbors and learned about coffee tasting and the spirit of sustainability. The coffee soap produced from the activity can also be given to neighbors, offices, and government agencies to promote the concept of sustainability. The day's activities were roughly divided into three stages: an activity meeting between lecturers and staff (first teaching relevant concepts and techniques to teachers and students in the department), and then conveying the two-stage concept of coffee brewing and coffee soap making to the participating teachers, students and guests. Finally, the handmade soap is exchanged for coffee grounds with neighboring institutions, and this continues in a sustainable cycle, effectively implementing the concepts of SDGs 4.7, 11.6 and 12.5. A total of 4 teachers, 18 students, 27 members of the public and 3 assistants participated in the entire event. A total of 85 coffee soaps were produced. In addition to some left as souvenirs by the participants, the other 51 were exchanged with neighboring organizations. Soap and coffee grounds exchange.
