A cross-cultural study of children's drawing

"Drawing is a form of graphic speech." Professor Wenfeng started by introducing and analyzing why children enjoy drawing through several children's drawings. Then professor led us into an exploration of Exploring the Characteristics of Self-Drawings Produced by Taiwanese and South Korean Children, starting from the research motivation - why choose cross-cultural research - to the reasons for choosing Vygotsky's sociocultural theory as the theoretical framework, the open coding of children's draws in the research process, and finally, the research results and limitations. During the sharing process, she provided us guidance when writing papers. At the same time, she also shared the point of view that "everyone interprets the draws they see based on personal experience", reminding us how to appreciate children's drawings by asking open-ended questions to allow children to fully express their thoughts.
