The good cycle of "you and I share the same good" - sustainable community advocacy, care and site management - USR plan focuses on corporate ESG to stimulate new opportunities for cooperation - making USR's sustainable local management influence last forever
On May 20, 2024 (Monday), at the invitation of the Office of Social Responsibility and Sustainability of the University of Science and Technology, we participated in the USR program online to focus on corporate ESG to stimulate new opportunities for cooperation - a form of making USR's local operations sustainable and impacting the long-lasting impact. Top joint training activities The activities focus on sustainable development issues such as local care, sustainable environment, industrial links and economic sustainability, health promotion and food safety, cultural sustainability, and other social practices, and provide USR plans for universities and colleges across the country. It is a communication platform for the painting team to learn new knowledge, share experiences, and discuss issues. The USR Promotion Center seeks USR partner schools with outstanding management results Let’s work together to build a shared learning pipeline. The so-called joint training (joint training workshop) is to invite universities to discuss the Learn about real problems encountered when connecting local areas, cultivating talents, and connecting internationally, and learn strategic tools to consciously loosen the rigid university system or adjust the university's constitution through institutional innovation, and pursue meaningful social responsibilities. The event also allowed us to understand that in today's society, Corporate Social Responsibility (Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) have become important indicators of corporate sustainable development. As the cradle of knowledge and an important institution for cultivating talents, universities have gradually received attention for their concept of University Social Responsibility (USR). How to connect USR with corporate ESG has become a goal jointly pursued by universities and companies. Here are some of my thoughts on the process. First, universities can provide theoretical and practical guidance to enterprises through research and teaching resources. The university has rich academic resources and experts and scholars, able to conduct in-depth ESG research and provide support for companies to formulate feasible ESG strategies. For example, experts from the Department of Environmental Science can provide scientific basis and suggestions for corporate environmental protection plans; professors from the Department of Sociology can help companies understand social impacts and formulate corresponding social responsibility plans; scholars from the Business School can provide corporate governance structure Improvements in structure and transparency. Secondly, universities and enterprises can implement USR and ESG practices through cooperative projects and internship programs. Universities can set up ESG projects in cooperation with enterprises to allow students to understand and apply relevant theories in practical operations. At the same time, companies also Internship opportunities can be provided to allow students to experience and learn ESG practices in a real corporate environment. This not only helps students grow professionally, but also injects fresh ideas and innovative thinking into businesses. Third, universities and enterprises should jointly promote public understanding and attention to ESG and USR. By holding forums, seminars and public lectures, we disseminate the concepts and importance of ESG and USR to the public and enhance the public's environmental awareness and social responsibility. As educational institutions, universities have the responsibility to guide the younger generation to pay attention to and participate in ESG and USR practices, while companies can demonstrate the actual value and effect of ESG to the public through their own practical experience and successful cases. In addition, cooperation between universities and enterprises can promote innovation and development on both sides. The scientific research results of universities can be transformed into technological innovation of enterprises, and the practical experience of enterprises can be fed back into the research and teaching of universities, forming a virtuous cycle. Through continuous cooperation and exchanges, universities and enterprises can jointly promote innovation and development in the field of ESG and achieve a sustainable society. will progress.
