【USR Hub】Playful by Name, Promising a Joyful Life in West Taipei - Management and Practice of Playful Urban Marketing - Application of 3D Terrain Model Production in Elementary School Social Studies Curriculum
"Khan Ji" is an innovative, educational, and eco-friendly geographic model designed to provide users with a completely new way of understanding and exploring the wonders of natural geography. The model focuses on mountain and island landscapes, presenting the terrain’s undulations and variations through contour lines, allowing users to explore the details of Earth's surface from a three-dimensional perspective. Whether for academic research, educational purposes, or as home decoration or gifts, "Khan Ji" offers unique value and appeal. 1. Design Concept and Material Selection The design concept of "Khan Ji" combines the concepts of contour lines and bathymetric lines in geography. Through these lines, the model clearly presents the elevation changes of mountains and the depth of islands. Each contour and bathymetric line enables users to intuitively understand terrain features, making it easier to grasp the undulations of mountains, the depth of lakes, and even the origin and development of islands. This design not only enhances the fun of learning geography but also deepens learners' understanding of natural geographical structures. In terms of material selection, "Khan Ji" adheres to the principles of environmental protection and sustainability. The primary material is 100% recycled milk carton paper, which helps reduce resource waste and effectively minimize environmental impact. Secondary materials include recycled materials like reclaimed integrated wood and recycled PP, which not only help reduce plastic pollution but also enhance the texture and durability of the model. This eco-friendly design protects natural resources while allowing users to enjoy the learning process and experience the value of sustainable development. 2. Accurate Data and Learning Value The model data of "Khan Ji" comes from the open data provided by the National Land Surveying and Mapping Center of the Ministry of the Interior. This ensures that the geographic data presented by the model is accurate and reliable, truly reflecting the geographical features of mountains, lakes, islands, and other natural landscapes. This is of great academic value and practical use for academic research, geographic teaching, and geography enthusiasts. For students and geography lovers, "Khan Ji" helps them better understand geographic knowledge in an intuitive way and enhances their perception of natural landforms. Specifically for students learning geography, this model effectively complements the theoretical knowledge found in traditional textbooks, transforming abstract geographic concepts into tangible forms and increasing interest and motivation in learning. 3. DIY and Creative Fun The "Khan Ji" model also incorporates DIY elements, allowing users to assemble and create their own realistic mountain coordinates. This is not just a creation process but also an enjoyable learning experience. During the assembly process, users can deepen their understanding of the principles of contour lines and gain insights into the construction and development of terrain, enhancing their hands-on skills and creativity.
