Formative Teacher Evaluation: Theory and Practice of Communicative Feedback

This lecture focused on the importance of feedback in professional growth for educators. Professor Lai Su-Ching began by explaining the significance of open lessons and illustrated, through concrete examples, that effective feedback should be frequent, timely, specific, and contextualized. She emphasized the method of “communicative feedback,” highlighting that professional dialogue is not a one-way instruction but an interactive exchange. Such a feedback model not only supports the continuous development of teachers’ professional skills but also fosters a collaborative and supportive educational environment, underscoring the value and impact of feedback in teaching practice.
