2026 _1142 SEL: Mid-to-Long-term Concepts and Practices

The speaker provides an overview of the origins and development of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and explores how schools can intervene in social-emotional development. This initiative is a bottom-up policy that emphasizes "connection and relationship-building before learning." Based on this foundation, the session guides participants on how to facilitate SEL while also helping teachers cultivate their own social-emotional competencies. The lecturer’s presentation helps participants gain a comprehensive understanding of SEL implementation. To demonstrate how SEL can be integrated into academic subjects and classroom management, the speaker shared numerous field examples and practical tools, such as "Worry Jars," "Challenge Songs," "Emotion Fuzzy Faces," and "Self-Affirmation Hopscotch." Additionally, practical examples of SEL in elementary classroom management were provided, such as creating emotion posters or drawing self-portraits based on personal traits. These applications have been shown to improve class atmosphere and enhance group cohesion. Finally, the lecturer provided a recommended reading list for those who wish to explore the topic further, enabling participants to continue their learning journey after the session.
