2025 SEL Implementation Experience – Sharing of Emotional Experiences in Primary School

The speaker shared experiences in designing and implementing emotional education curricula across different elementary school grade levels, covering topics such as emotion recognition, sources of emotions, and behavioral responses. Emotions were also presented in concrete ways, such as using colors to represent different emotions, incorporating body expressions, and writing short emotional poems. This activity helped both teachers and students understand how emotional education can be designed and applied. It also offered insights into how students respond to such lessons and how emotional education influences teacher-student interactions. In the future, teachers might consider applying similar approaches in their own classrooms and discussing various emotional responses to different scenarios with students. This can enhance both self-awareness and social awareness among teachers and students. According to the survey results, 83% of participants reported being very satisfied with the activity, while 13% were satisfied. Qualitative feedback from participating teachers and students indicated that the activity helped learners gain a better understanding of emotions, clarified common misconceptions, and provided theoretical knowledge of SEL along with various emotion regulation strategies. Emotional experience activities embedded in the lessons facilitated emotional awareness and deepened participants’ engagement with the topic. Many participants suggested holding more related events or workshops in the future to further enhance their understanding and learning of SEL.
