2025 Picture Books and Psychological Resilience: Activity Experience and Program Design

This activity primarily aimed to introduce the design and application of picture books integrated with psychological resilience programs. The instructor demonstrated a variety of activity designs and guided participants through experiential learning using images, picture books, and videos to explore emotions and internal experiences. By viewing and discussing visual content, participants were able to resonate emotionally and further recognize their own feelings and bodily responses. The course also introduced the use of picture books combined with meditation (such as Imagine a Rainbow) to support emotional regulation and mind-body integration. Interactive activities like The Sound of Dot integrated picture books with musical instruments, allowing participants to adjust the volume and perceive internal changes, followed by group sharing sessions. The overall course emphasized full sensory engagement and awareness, providing practical activity designs suitable for counseling and educational settings. According to survey results, 87% of participants expressed high satisfaction with the activity, and 13% were satisfied, resulting in an overall satisfaction rate of 100%. Qualitative feedback from participating teachers and students indicated that the activity helped them understand the functions and applications of picture books, and how they could be connected to emotional experiences and activity design. Some participants shared that the activity fostered self-awareness and healing, with the instructor’s approachable and experiential teaching style deepening their understanding and learning on the topic. Feedback included: “Clear and insightful, with hands-on experience and reflection that inspires application,” and “Understanding the core of the story helps design related activities and reveals the connection between images and psychological responses.”
