Introduction to the Experimental Education Curriculum at Chuan Yuan Experimental Elementary School in Taipei City
Taipei Municipal Chuan Yuan Experimental Elementary School has submitted an experimental education curriculum proposal to the Taipei City Government’s Department of Education, hoping to give children more autonomy by relaxing the constraints of the experimental curriculum! A. Community-Based Field Studies Developing an “outdoor field study curriculum” that encompasses four dimensions—industry, culture, daily life, and nature—and 16 themes. B. Curriculum Planning Centered on the Four Seasons Enabling children to engage with nature in sync with the seasons, observing, experiencing, and learning to feel the rhythms and patterns of the natural world. C. Learning Design Centered on Experiential Exploration Enriching children’s sensory experiences through discovery, exploration, and action within their living environment, igniting their inner passion for learning. D. Family-oriented learning environments We create a “home-like warmth” and design classrooms as family-style living spaces, fulfilling the school’s role as a bridge between the family and society, and providing a healthy foundation for students’ physical, emotional, and spiritual development. E. Teaching teams organized by academic clusters
