Aromatherapy and Essential Oil Massage

This course, titled “Aromatherapy and Essential Oil Massage,” introduces the basic concepts of aromatherapy, the characteristics of essential oils, and their applications in health promotion. The course begins with the origin and theoretical foundation of aromatherapy, followed by an introduction to common types of essential oils, their aromatic properties, methods of use, and important precautions, helping students build accurate foundational knowledge. It then explores the basic principles and techniques of essential oil massage, including massage methods, application areas, relaxation procedures, and safety considerations. Through this process, students will learn how appropriate tactile stimulation and aroma intervention may help relieve stress, promote relaxation, and improve quality of life. Finally, the course integrates examples from health care, daily wellness, and practical applications to help students understand the value of aromatherapy and essential oil massage in supporting physical and mental well-being, enhancing care quality, and strengthening self-care abilities.
