Taipei Municipal University USR Hub Project --- Hualien-Taitung Micro-Light Project: Indigenous cultural experience plus sports protection courses + scientific physical fitness experience

The "Hualien-Taitung Micro-Light Project," aiming to promote balanced urban and rural resources and enhance students' athletic literacy, provides itinerant course services to five sports schools in Taitung. This activity covers baseball, judo, and track and field, with approximately 100 elementary and junior high school students participating. Through four hours of on-site instruction, students can experience scientific sports knowledge and cultural integration in a familiar environment, creating a diverse learning experience. The course content includes three main focuses. First, the "Local Culture Physical Education Course" centers on the indigenous culture of Hualien and Taitung, developing concrete physical activities from elements such as hunting skills, tribal life experiences, and forest walks. Through animal footprint observation, trap mechanism demonstrations, and basic archery, students improve their body control, concentration, and reaction abilities while understanding the value of tribal culture and environmental wisdom. The second part is "Sports Safety and Protection Education," which introduces common sports injury causes and prevention strategies in a concise manner, and demonstrates warm-up techniques, ice application and bandaging techniques, and the use of protective gear, equipping students with basic self-protection and peer assistance skills. The third part, "Scientific Physical Fitness Assessment Experience," includes assessments of cardiorespiratory endurance, flexibility, muscle strength, and agility, combined with fun challenge activities. This allows students to understand their current physical fitness status through data and strengthens their motivation to continue practicing. By approaching physical education from a cultural perspective and supporting students' understanding of their own abilities with scientific methods, this activity not only provides students in rural areas with opportunities to access sports science but also assists coaches and teachers in understanding students' training needs. The entire activity is implemented in a simple, feasible, and relatable manner, enabling students from different sports to gain practical sports knowledge, body awareness, and cultural confidence.
