I’m Okay, Let’s Work Together for the Greater Good—Social and Emotional Learning and Emotional Labor Management

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) has become an important approach to teaching and counseling in contemporary education. In addition to guiding students in emotional awareness, interpersonal interaction, and self-management, teachers are also facing increasing challenges related to emotional labor. This is particularly significant in special education settings, where teachers must simultaneously respond to students’ diverse needs and provide emotional support, creating a greater demand for professional knowledge and practical strategies. Through this workshop, teachers will strengthen their emotional awareness, interpersonal interaction, and self-regulation skills in teaching and counseling contexts. By integrating theory and practice, the workshop aims to deepen teachers’ understanding of the emotional and behavioral needs of students with special educational needs, develop practical teaching and support strategies, balance teacher self-care with students’ individual development, and ultimately foster a positive, supportive, and mutually beneficial inclusive education environment.
