Meaning Construction through Expressive and Creative Movement 3

This course integrates Creative Dance, Brain Dance, and Laban movement theory to guide participants in understanding how bodily movement can serve as a medium for perception, expression, and creation. The activity focuses on the Laban movement theme of “the diverse use of the limbs,” leading participants to explore how the hands, feet, arms, legs, and other body parts respond to musical elements such as tempo, pitch, rhythmic dynamics, and timbre. Through non-locomotor and locomotor movement practices, participants experiment with pathways and spatial patterns such as straight, zigzag, curved, and twisted lines, transforming auditory experiences into visible bodily representations. This process demonstrates a creative learning journey of “drawing music with the body.”
