Creative Dance Movement Prescription

This course integrates Creative Dance, Somatics, and Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT), using the body as a primary medium for self-exploration and the promotion of holistic well-being. Through a variety of experiential activities—including breath awareness, body scanning, movement exploration, improvisation, creative expression, and interpersonal interaction—participants are guided to reconnect with their bodily experiences while enhancing body awareness, emotional awareness, and self-regulation. The course explores the fundamental movement elements of Body, Space, Time, Energy, and Relationships, while incorporating somatic principles such as interoception, proprioception, and movement efficiency. Core DMT concepts—including mirroring, attunement, symbolic expression, and therapeutic group interaction—are also integrated to deepen participants' understanding of the relationship between movement, emotion, and interpersonal connection. Within a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental learning environment, participants are encouraged to explore movement and emotional experiences at their own pace. Through individual creative exploration, partner work, and group sharing, they will cultivate creativity, strengthen interpersonal connection and empathy, and develop practical self-care strategies that can be applied in everyday life. Ultimately, the course aims to foster mind–body integration, enhance stress regulation, and promote overall health and well-being.
