2026_1151 Qualitative Research: Uncovering Multiple Realities and Evolving Dynamics

Over the course of two hours, this session provided a comprehensive overview of the architecture and theoretical framework of qualitative research. Starting from foundational research concepts, it outlined the core essence of qualitative inquiry, ethical standards, and how its scope differs from quantitative research. It also explored major qualitative approaches—including action research, phenomenology, hermeneutics, grounded theory, case study, ethnomethodology, ethnography, historical research, and meta-analysis—highlighting the practical features of each methodology. In addition, the session emphasized the critical role of the researcher's self-reflexivity and narrative ability. In qualitative research, the researcher serves as the primary analytical tool. Maintaining sharp self-awareness is essential to weaving scattered text and personal experiences into a meaningful context, ultimately revealing the core value of qualitative research: "discovering multiple realities and tortuous courses.
