Using Body Language Expression and Interaction in Workshops for Older Adults 1
This activity centered on “Expression, Creativity, and Meaning Construction through Movement.” Participants were guided to experience themselves and connect with others through body-based activities. Beginning with Brain Dance as a warm-up, the group gradually developed body awareness, sensory openness, and shared rhythm. Drawing on Laban Movement Analysis, participants explored space, energy, tempo, and levels while shifting between the roles of guide and follower. A key part of the activity used paper as a connecting medium. Through holding, moving, and responding to the paper, participants practiced non-verbal communication, trust, and coordination. They then created a simple group waltz together, turning movement into a warm and meaningful shared experience.
